LEAD Public Schools is proud to announce that five teachers in our network are Blue Ribbon Teacher award winners for the 2018-2019 school year. The honor is given by Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, the Nashville Public Education Foundation and Nashville’s Agenda Steering Committee to recognize the top teaching talent in the district.
Please join us in congratulating Abby Upperman of LEAD Cameron (Math); Paige Pennigar (ELA) and Malorie Crafton (Physics) of LEAD Southeast High School; and Ryan MacDonald (Math) and Zach Williams (Math) of LEAD Southeast Middle School.
LEAD’s five teachers comprise 10 percent of the full list of 50 honorees for the second straight year! This year’s award winners were honored for their outstanding work in one of three areas: student growth, instructional excellence and teacher leadership.
“Our Blue Ribbon teachers are outstanding role models for both our students and their peers,” said LaVoe Mulgrew, Head of Schools for LEAD Cameron and LEAD Southeast. “We are thrilled they have received this prestigious award. Not only are they impressive classroom instructors, but they also care deeply for their students’ well being. They share a commitment to our mission to prepare all of our students for college and life through rigorous instruction as well as by building trusting, positive relationships with their students.”
This is the second straight year that LEAD Public Schools has had five teachers recognized as Blue Ribbon winners.
Congratulations to Paige, Malorie, Ryan, Zach and Abby for your commitment to students and families!
