Congratulations to Antonio “Tony” Anthony for being named the city’s Mr. Basketball through the Charles Davis Foundation awards program.

Tony, an eighth-grader at Brick Church: A LEAD Public School, led the Bears to a 16-4 record and a season that ended with a city championship game loss in late February to John Early. Of the 17 Charles Davis award winners, Tony had the highest GPA.

A stellar student-athlete and school leader at Brick, Tony participated in the school’s ST Math glow party after-school event a day after the city championship.
Along with teammate Doug Hooten and coached by Brick’s Jay McGinnis, Anthony will play in the city middle school all-star game on Saturday, May 4 at Fisk University. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
