LEAD Cameron Middle School is a free, zoned-enrolled middle school with an emphasis on preparing our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in college and in life.

Cameron Middle School has a rich history in Nashville with an alumni network spanning decades. Today, as a zoned district middle school, Cameron reflects the diversity of a growing city, with over 17 languages spoken by the student population.

In 2011, Cameron became the first successful turnaround school to partner with a local district in Tennessee.

As a zoned school, all of our students have the opportunity to receive a rigorous, college preparatory education that is competitive with any Nashville school. In addition to rigorous academics, staff at Cameron is dedicated to supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students, to ensure they are Read for Life.

At Cameron, we believe in holding students to high expectations, and providing the necessary supports to help them reach their potential. As a result, our students thrive.

Our LEAD Ethos is central to everything we do.

“We are LEADers because we are committed, courageous, disciplined, self-reliant and because we serve others.”

“I started Cameron last year in 7th grade. I think the energy is really strong. I feel that could be me one day, with people cheering me on for getting into college.”
