Alumni Spotlight: Chandler Davis, LEAD Academy High School, Student Support Coordinator

Chandler Davis, a proud graduate of LEAD Academy, is no stranger to the halls of the school where she now serves as a coach and support staff. Her journey back to LEAD wasn’t something she initially expected as a career pathway, but felt a deeper call in her life to explore what being an educator would be like.

“Throughout high school and college, people always told me I’d make a great educator,” Chandler recalls. “I denied it for as long as I could, but I reached a point where I realized I owed it to myself—and to everyone who’s poured into me—to give it a shot.”

Chandler’s connection to LEAD runs deep. After graduating from LEAD Cameron Middle School in 2015 and LEAD Academy High School in 2019, she found herself returning in 2020 as a coach for her alma mater. Her experience as both a student and now a staff member has given her a unique perspective. “It’s safe to say LEAD is my second home. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” she says with pride.

As Chandler embarks on each new semester, she has high hopes—not just for her students, but for herself. Her goal is to be a living example of what’s possible after leaving LEAD Academy High School. “I want to show them through my actions that they can achieve great things if they hold themselves accountable, think ahead, and have self-awareness,” she shares. In her dual role as a coach and support staff, Chandler is focused on instilling these values in every student she works with.

In addition to her role as a Student Support Coordinator, Chandler has spent the past four years coaching both volleyball and cheerleading at LEAD. Through sports, she emphasizes the same principles of discipline, accountability, and forward-thinking that have guided her through her own journey. “Coaching is where I see students really develop that self-awareness and responsibility,” she adds. She truly enhances the culture at lead by cultivating our core LEADer student values: Learn and Grow, Practice Discipline, Encourage Others, Take Ownership, and Build Community.

For Chandler, returning to LEAD isn’t just about giving back—it’s about showing students what’s possible. Her journey from a student to a coach at LEAD is a powerful reminder that the path forward is often closer than we think, especially when the place that shaped you is where you, in turn, use your gifts and skills to help others develop theirs.
