LEAD Public Schools

How do LEAD Public Schools Compare to Schools in Your Community?

When choosing a school for your child, it’s important to consider how that school performs on metrics like growth, proficiency, and chronic absenteeism rates. At LEAD Public Schools, we’re transparent about how we fare in comparison to surrounding neighborhood schools. Check out how each of our schools stack up against their nearby peer schools.

LEAD Academy’s Chronic Absenteeism Rates Significantly Lower Than Neighboring Schools

At schools across the country, one of the biggest obstacles to student learning is chronic absenteeism.

To combat the issue, the LEAD Academy team took an aggressive and comprehensive approach that resulted in reducing their chronic absenteeism rate by half. During the 2021-22 school year, 42% of students were chronically absent. After implementing a new set of strategies, LEAD Academy saw a dramatic impact with the chronic absenteeism dropping to just over 16% for the 2023-24 school year.

Take a look at how that 16% compares to the chronic absenteeism rates at other schools in the area:

  • Glencliff High School: 34.4%
  • Antioch High School: 37.7%
  • Cane Ridge High School: 39.6%
  • McGavock High School: 34.1%

LEAD Neely’s Bend’s Letter Grade of B Makes it Madison’s Premier Middle School Option

LEAD Neely’s Bend achieved a letter grade of B on the Tennessee state report card for the 2023-24 school year. This is a huge accomplishment for LEAD Neely’s Bend, given how far the school has come since 2015, when the state-run Achievement School District (ASD) selected LEAD Public Schools to operate Neely’s Bend, a zone-enrolled school in Madison, after it fell in the bottom five percent of all Tennessee schools for academic performance.

Neely’s Bend’s academic performance improved under LEAD’s operation, and is currently outperforming Madison Middle in all subjects, making LEAD Neely’s Bend the best option for middle school families in the Madison community.

See how its B rating compares to all of its neighboring schools:

  • Neely’s Bend Elementary School (K-8): F
  • Dupont Hadley Middle School: D
