CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2016! May 20, 2016
Hundreds of family and friends spilled out of the Cameron gymnasium this evening to watch the LEAD Academy High School Class of 2016 graduate in what was truly a standing-room-only affair.
Our graduates, the third consecutive senior class to earn 100 percent acceptance to college, did themselves and families proud with their energy, smiles and overall awesomeness throughout the ceremony. For many, they are the first in their families to go to college.
The ceremony was truly historic in that it’s the first time a high school graduation has been held at Cameron since 1971. From 1955 to then, it was the proud high school home for African-Americans in South Nashville. We were honored to share that moment with members of the Cameron Alumni Association this evening and all of our families, friends and supporters. It truly was an inspirational event, one that will only grow larger in future years.
Thank you, one and all, for your support this evening and throughout the 2015-2016 school year. We are honored to serve our 2,000 students and their families across Nashville as the city’s largest charter school provider.
Please visit our Facebook page over the coming days for pictures galore and thank you, all, for your continued support.
