Remote Learning Snapshot: LEAD Brick Church
As LEAD students continue learning remotely, teachers are encouraging students to finish the year strong. A great way for students to stay caught up on their studies is by watching the videos their teachers record to demonstrate their lessons.
Seventh grade science teacher Brisha Dawkins created a fun and engaging science experiment and posted it to Google Classroom for her students to either create at home or follow along.
Ms. Dawkins’ “Gummy Bear” experiment teaches students about osmosis (the diffusion of water into and out of a cellular membrane) by placing gummy bears into club soda, vinegar, water, and salt water and letting them soak for 24 hours.
She asks students to write a paragraph with their hypotheses describing what they think will happen to each gummy bear. She then posted a second video 24 hours later explaining what happened to each gummy bear and why.
