LEAD Announces Decision to Withdraw Charter Applications

LEAD Public Schools today announced its decision to withdraw amended applications to open LEAD Academy North High School and LEAD Southeast Elementary School.

“Our commitment to our students, families and staff is to provide ‘best in class’ academics across our network,” Interim CEO Dwayne Tucker said. “I have no doubt that our current leadership team and teachers, coupled with our academic programming, ensure the very best opportunities for our valued students and families. We are extremely proud of our work in Nashville over the last 10 years, including our four high school graduating classes all earning 100 percent acceptance to college and the Reward School status earned at three of our schools. We look forward to continuing to offer the best possible education for our students and considering expansion of our network into new communities in the future.”

Mr. Tucker noted the importance of ensuring LEAD’s ongoing mission to  prepare all of our students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in college and in life as the network begins the 2017-2018 school year.

“We believe the natural evolution of every high-performing organization is to evaluate our growth strategy and quality of all of our schools; and to identify how we can best model partnerships with our authorizers,” Mr. Tucker said.
