LEAD Public Schools Continues Strong Academic Growth in 2024-25 School Year

Following a year of significant academic growth in 2023-24, LEAD Public Schools is continuing momentum with all five of its schools meeting or exceeding growth standards outlined by the Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) for the 2024-25 school year.

“At LEAD, our students arrive with diverse starting points, and we embrace the responsibility to help every child thrive,” said Dr. Ricki Gibbs, CEO at LEAD Public Schools. “Our teachers and staff ensure our students know they matter—regardless of where they are in their academic journey. This is a great accomplishment for our network, and I am incredibly proud of our team for delivering on our promise to LEAD students and families.”

For the 2024-25 school year, LEAD Cameron, LEAD Neely’s Bend, LEAD Southeast Middle, and LEAD Southeast High each earned a Level 5 score, achieving the highest possible level of academic growth. This is the fourth year in a row these four schools have earned a Level 5. LEAD Academy met growth expectations for the 2024-25 school year by earning a Level 3 TVAAS score.

In addition to these overall growth scores, there are several other bright spots to highlight:

  • LEAD Southeast High earned a Level 5 in every subject area for the third year in a row.
  • LEAD Neely’s Bend and LEAD Southeast Middle earned a Level 5 in every subject for the second year in a row.
  • LEAD Cameron earned a Level 5 in 4 of 5 subjects.
  • LEAD Academy earned a Level 5 in social studies.
  • For the ACT, LEAD Academy earned a Level 4 composite score and LEAD Southeast High earned a Level 5 composite score.
