LEAD Participates in Annual School Choice Festival

LEAD Public Schools participated in the annual School Choice Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24 inside the Music City Center.

Flanked with pamphlets, pictures, pens and a passion for students and families, representatives from LEAD’s five schools – Brick Church, Cameron, LEAD Academy High School, LEAD Southeast and Neely’s Bend – joined other educators and more than 200 schools represented at the annual fair, hosted by Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

For LEAD, it was an opportunity to engage families and interested in students in discussions about what their educational pathway can look like. As Nashville’s largest charter school operator, LEAD serves the needs of more than 2,100 students and families across Nashville and Davidson County.

The first three high school graduating classes all earned 100 percent acceptance to college, a testament to the network’s mission of preparing all students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in college and in life.

As for the Festival, families and prospective students toured and talked with schools from a little before 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. About 2,500 people attended.

The School Choice Festival is the opening event for the district’s Open Enrollment process. Applications are sent home on Oct. 31 and due by Dec. 2. Families can select up to seven schools, ranked in order of preference, on the application, and are notified of the choices on Jan. 13. LEAD is hosting Open Houses at Brick Church, LEAD Southeast and Neely’s Bend on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. For more information and to enroll in one of our schools, please visit this link.
