LEAD Southeast Named Reward School for the 2024-25 School Year

LEAD Public Schools is excited to announce that LEAD Southeast has been named a Reward School for the 2024-25 school year. This designation applies to both LEAD Southeast Middle and LEAD Southeast High.

“This is an incredible accomplishment for our network, and it speaks to the amazing work happening at LEAD Southeast Middle and LEAD Southeast High,” said Dr. Ricki Gibbs II, CEO at LEAD Public Schools. “The work we do every day matters, and this kind of recognition validates that we are moving the needle in the right direction for our students and families.”

Reward status is the highest designation from the state of Tennessee and recognizes schools with high levels of academic achievement and growth. LEAD Southeast Middle is one of only seven middle schools in Nashville to achieve Reward Status, and LEAD Southeast High is one of only five high schools in Nashville to earn the recognition.

In addition to Reward Status, LEAD Southeast has earned a number of accolades in the last year, including:

  • LEAD Southeast Middle and LEAD Southeast High both earned Level 5 in the Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) for the 2024-25 school year.
  • LEAD Southeast High was ranked in the Top 10 Public High Schools in Nashville, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 Best Public High Schools List.
  • LEAD Southeast Middle Principal Jonathan Brocco was named 2024 Administrator of the Year by the Tennessee Charter School Center. He was also named a finalist for the 2025 Nashville Emerging Leader Award (NELA) in Education.
  • LEAD Southeast High outpaced both MNPS and the state of Tennessee in graduation rate for the 2023-24 school year.
    • LEAD Southeast High – 94%
    • MNPS – 86%
    • Tennessee – 92%
  • For the 2023-24 school year, LEAD Southeast Middle and LEAD Southeast High both received a “B” letter grade on the State Report Card.
