LEAD High Schools Boast Four QuestBridge Scholarship Finalists
Each year, LEAD seniors apply for the QuestBridge Scholarship, one of the country’s most prestigious and competitive scholarships that is awarded to only a handful of qualified applicants. QuestBridge partners with some of the top universities in the nation to ensure that outstanding students from low-income backgrounds have the opportunity to attend college for free.
Over 25,000 applications were submitted this year and only about 7,200 were selected as finalists – four of whom are LEAD Class of 2025 seniors!
LEAD Academy Finalists:
Nicole Alvarado
Joscelyn Avila Turcios
De’Andre Travis
LEAD Southeast Finalist:
Scarlett Mendoza-Valdivia
“We are thrilled to celebrate our QuestBridge scholarship finalists. This achievement underscores the exceptional academic dedication these students have demonstrated throughout their schooling,” said Courtney McEwen, LEAD’s director of college and career. “Each of these remarkable students has a promising future ahead, and we eagerly anticipate learning which universities they will choose to attend.”
As finalists, these students will submit their remaining items to the schools they are interested in attending, and in December, they will find out if they have matched and awarded a full four-year scholarship to the school they matched with.
We are cheering these seniors on as they complete the application process!
