Three LEAD Schools Improve to B Rating for the 2023-24 School Year

Today, the state of Tennessee released the results of the A-F accountability system, and LEAD Public Schools is excited to announce that three of our schools moved from a C to a B for the 2023-24 school year!

Based on academic results during the 2023-24 school year, LEAD Neely’s Bend, LEAD Southeast Middle, and LEAD Southeast High were all rated B schools. This is an improvement from the previous school year when all three schools earned C status.

“Going from a C to a B in just one year is an incredible accomplishment that speaks to the success of our staff’s efforts to improve student outcomes,” said Dwayne Tucker, CEO at LEAD Public Schools. “We are immensely proud of this progress and know that if we continue on the same path, we can achieve A status at all of our schools in the coming years.”

The Tennessee Department of Education’s A-F accountability system assigns a letter grade to every public school in the state of Tennessee. This grading system uses several metrics to determine a school’s letter grade, including student achievement, student growth, college and career readiness (high school only), and the growth of the lowest 25% of students.
