Our Results

Our Impact
LEAD Public Schools is a Nashville-based charter school network that operates five schools – both open and zoned enrollment – in grades 5-12.

We are proud to serve a diverse population of students, and our mission is to prepare LEADers who can progress academically, socially, and emotionally. We consider the success of the whole individual as we strive for a more connected future.

LEAD Students are Ready

Students of color, economically disadvantaged, and limited English proficiency students are not left behind at LEAD. In fact, they succeed at higher rates than their state and local district peers.

Our Students are growing

The majority of our students come to LEAD 2-3 years behind grade level. We work to help them grow year over year and catch up academically.

TVAAS measures student growth year over year on a scale of 1-5, compared to the performance of each student’s peers.

Following a year of significant academic growth in 2021-22, LEAD Public Schools continued momentum with all five of its schools meeting or exceeding growth standards outlined by the Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) for the 2022-23 school year.

TVAAS SCORES

For the 2022-23 school year, LEAD Cameron, LEAD Neely’s Bend, LEAD Southeast Middle, and LEAD Southeast High each earned a Level 5 score, achieving the highest possible level of academic growth. This is the second year in a row these four schools have earned a Level 5–a significant accomplishment, especially given the challenges schools have faced coming out of the pandemic.

Our Students Are EXCEEDING Their Peers

At LEAD Public Schools, our students are growing faster than their peers at neighboring schools.

All five schools in our network continue to lead their neighborhood cluster in student growth, according to the Tennessee Value Added Assessment System (TVAAS). In particular, students who enter our middle schools with the highest learning deficits earn the highest growth score possible.

Not only are our students growing faster than their peers, they’re also more proficient. Every school in our network scores the highest overall proficiency score for their enrollment zone when compared to MNPS’ zoned school options.
