of our students enroll in college right out of high school. Compared to only 53% of the district and 58% of the state high school grads.

The majority of students come to LEAD’s middle schools two to three years behind because of their elementary school experience.

In 2011, MNPS chose LEAD to assume operation of Cameron Middle to prevent the school from ending up on the priority list. LEAD successfully turned around academic performance at LEAD Cameron and continues to see gains each year. The charter network did it again this past year when LEAD Neely’s Bend exited both priority status and the Achievement School District.

WHY WE’RE EXPANDING

By taking on a zone of schools through this partnership, LEAD will have the opportunity to ensure a consistent K-12 experience and make an impact on students through all grade levels.

LEAD Public Schools is committed to serving Nashville’s most vulnerable populations and accepts all students who wish to attend a LEAD school. This partnership will allow LEAD to make an even greater impact on the students, families, and communities it passionately serves.’

“As his mother, I especially like the way I am treated by the staff when I want to know about my son’s status. They have always been attentive, kind, and welcoming.”

_Jeimy López,

LEAD Neely’s Bend Middle School Parent

“I didn’t even graduate high school, and LEAD Neely’s Bend has encouraged my son to look forward to that goal of one day being in college. I truly believe I owe all that to LEAD Neely’s Bend.”

_Amy Rippie,

LEAD Neely’s Bend Middle School Parent
“The teachers show that they care of the students. The basketball coach is a great mentor and treats them like they are his brothers.”
