At LEAD, everyone embraces the mission. We come to work each day motivated by our students and inspired by our colleagues. We commit to creating an environment and culture where people want to grow, support each other, and love coming to work each day.

“If you are a great instructor, LEAD’s shown that they are going to reward you, develop you and work to keep you in the classroom.”

Dylan Burrows, LEAD Southeast High School

We have over a decade of experience helping students with the largest academic needs to close the gap with their peers— including, 100% college acceptance rate for our first six graduating classes.

We intentionally design our schools to support the social and emotional needs of our students. With dedicated personnel including a culture support team and school counselors at every school to support behavior, we’ve got the right team and systems in place for students and teachers to be successful.

We place a high priority on helping staff build intentional relationships so that every student feels connected and known at school. We believe in creating a joyful, safe environment where students can accomplish their goals and be proud of their work.

We develop great teachers with a culture of continual growth. This includes:

  • A dedicated coach, one instructional coach for every 6-8 teachers to provide regular support.
  • Culture foundations, we help teachers build and maintain positive classroom environments.
  • Great teammates, we build teams around our teachers so they never do this work alone.

LEAD pays great teachers to do what they do best: teach. Our performance-based compensation model makes it possible for excellent teachers to continue in the classroom and earn up to a 10% salary increase annually. After one full year of employment, we offer 16 weeks paid leave for new mothers and primary caregivers.

More Information:

We believe ALL Nashville students deserve great teachers. We will not allow an entire generation of students to be left behind, so we welcome and serve all Nashville students— regardless of need or background. That’s why LEAD has invested in creating a sustainable model where great teachers can earn more and continue teaching and living in Nashville.

LEAD is unique among charter networks – We operate true neighborhood schools and serve the same students as traditional public schools, with three zoned-enrolled schools.

“In my ninth year, I’m still receiving coaching. We talk about what’s working, what’s not working, and how I can become a better teacher and best serve our kids.”
